Burned Bread
When I decided I wanted to take on this little market stand / bread-baker venture, I knew it had to be for me. I had to make a decision to bet on myself, and that is not the kind of…

Mostly a market stand, kind of a lifestyle.

The Market Stand’s launch is set for April 2026 and is centered around the love of serving my community. I want my neighbors to be able to have access to fresh, healthy goods just a few steps from them.
The Market Stand will sit at the end of my driveway and will work on an honor system. It will be stocked three days a week with different items such as breads, artisan crackers, cakes, jams, and hopefully honey (if the bees provide, I’m at their mercy).
Expect more updates by early March.

I started learning how to garden when I was 7(ish) years old. My dad’s ex girlfriend, Deb, would bring me out to her small patch of dirt and I’d assist putting seeds and flowers in the ground. One day she and I were working manure into the soil, and when I commented that it smelled like poop she told me it was. I was horrified until she explained the circle of life in way my little brain could understand: things go into the ground, and new life comes from it. Things like poop, bugs, and dead things. This lesson was great timing because the animated Lion King had just come out a year or two before she explained this to me, so it clicked (I’m probably aging myself by telling you that…).
I’ve been gardening in some capacity ever since then. I start most of my plants from seeds, collect seeds at the end of the season, compost what I can’t use, and eat/share the rest. It’s been a blast and my husband, Patrick, and I are always up to something new out there.
I have three beehives and I like to give updates on what’s buzzing and share videos on how they are doing. My bees have a lot of personality, so stay tuned.

Where I dump updates on everything else I’m up to. Like, whatever book I’m reading, or what Patrick is brewing. Maybe a rage-post about the state of society. Ya know, just whatever whim hits me.
